Warrior forum Newbie SEO question

I came across this question on Warrior forum and thought this might be of some help for the newer online marketer or SEO enthusiast, or if not you might find it of interest.

So if we wanted we could separate our SEO packages into 2 parts then...
any of you guys doing this?

I'm guessing the Off-Site SEO would be where the expertise would be required and may require some help from some professionals or lots of time for the noob.

then comes to the 2nd part of my question

Example say i was doing SEO for local business like a Mechanic shop what kind of SEO would be done i would think that link building with all them tools out there would be a bit too broad and getting wasted traffic also the same with article writing ... AM I WRONG to think like this??? or is there no such thing as wasted traffic even though its from the other side of the world? Just not getting that part of the SEO process.

If any of you guys have any idea on how you would deal with SEO for a local business what do you guys how do you do it and justify the charge?
Local Directories,Google Places,Twitter,FB, Yahoo answers on behalf of the business?

Just trying to make sure im not ripping people off giving them wasted services.

TIA

My respose…

Honestly evaluate how many accounts you can manage efficiently and the time it takes to really get results organically, then don't be shy to attach the relevant cost (be fair) to the service you provide make sure that the value your clients will receive from your efforts is measurable.

In respect to marketing a local business it all comes down to keyword research and the advertising platforms i.e. (they should reach local prospects) you choose to run campaigns with.  To drive a more traffic that is country or community specific you need to advertise in the local online and offline communities, pick the most relevant category to your niche as to target buyers. Back to keyword research, well you need simply put,  software that can give you the most important piece of information for someone who offers SEO for small to medium businesses, and that is can I, in a relatively short period of time compete for those keywords that are getting searched for. For this, I recommend Keyword Blue print
You can get the software from the guys at The IM advantage. Performing the relevant basic on page and off page SEO tactics e.g. posts in niche specific blogs and forums, submit articles, create and submit You Tube videos and press releases or target group building on Facebook as I’m sure you know will increase your organic keyword Google rankings. With Face book you can start local fan pages and build local groups then send advertisements on deals and what not with the link to the site therefore driving more local traffic to the local business site.
Find a few longer tailed keywords and set a timetable for link posting and video and article submissions. You can also find very niche specific keywords with local brand names in them that for example the mechanic shop to use your previous example, currently keep in stock. This will help to draw in more local traffic because brands can be regionally specific.

No matter at what stage in the SEO and internet marketing arena your knowledge and skill level is  you still have value to offer clients , just always be professional and illustrate that value to your clients and deliver on your commitments and you business will grow. Remember you have what all business owners online need and few know how to achieve and that is more sales through greater brand awareness and increased lead generation.

Hope this helps some what.
